I second that. Best wishes to the wonderful neighbors to the north, eh!
What are we supposed to do, wear turtlenecks and drink beer? I'm all for the latter, but it's way too hot for the former.
Chris,
I thank you on behalf of the Canandians...
Becka,
...which brings me to what we should do. Play some Rush, April Wine or Triumph, and drink Labatt's.
Well.
I am hurt!
I too am a puck-slapping, maple-eating and moose-mounting citizen of Soviet Canuckistan.
Labbatt is Belgian now, same folks that bring you Stella Artois. Molson is a Coors subsidiary.
The Hudson's Bay Company and the famous Tim Hortons Coffee outlets are also American owned now.
Canada is but a branch plant of the Yankee.
Rush, April Wine and Triumph? You are dating yourself young man.
Avril, Shania, Alannis and Nelly are the new Canadian exports.
chris - it is spelled:
"neighbours" up here!
beckeye - we do not wear turtlenecks any more, too many taxes involved now.
Sterculian,
Finally, a real Canadian comes down here!
I didn't know that about Labatt's, that's a shame. So this is what it comes down to, all the liquors and all the oil companies owned by three corporations...as long as they don't mix them up.
Dan mi mas gasolina!
"Canada is but a branch plant of the Yankee."
Um, no offense, but I thought Canadian corporations (along with the Dutch and Saudis) own most of the prime office buildings Manhattan and L.A.
"Rush, April Wine and Triumph? You are dating yourself young man."
I'm only a couple of years younger than you and...
"Avril"
We don't mention that name on this blog and I wouldn't mention her in general, that'll stir anti-Canadian sentiment where there is none.
"Shania"
Shania I like, but she tends to polarize...
"Alannis"
...so does Alannis, though I like her too...
"Nelly"
I dug her until the last album, can't play her in the house with dem lyrics and yes, she makes me feel old. I could've mentioned Saga, Corey Hart, Glass Tiger, Bryan Adams, etc... But then, I'd still be dating myself.
Oh, I know, I have five Sarah McLachlan albums.
It's sad but this may be my last July 1 celebrating as a full fledged Canuck... I just sent off my final paperwork for US Citizenship as the buggers are raising the processing fee $265 extra on Aug 1
The problem with Canadian Corporations is that they are controlled by foreigners!
Friends don't let friends listen to Avril!
Corey Hart no longer qualifies as a Canadian according to the Canadian Content Legislation for the media presentation of Canadian talent. He uses the Yankee facilities too much.
Thank you! We brought the baby to some hillbilly fireworks and he slept through the whole thing.
Todd,
Wow, congrats. I wonder that with American or dual citizenship, if you could still qualify for those Canadian screenwriting jobs that they give only to Canadian citizens.
Sterculian,
"The problem with Canadian Corporations is that they are controlled by foreigners!"
I, uh, don't know what to say to that...
"Friends don't let friends listen to Avril!"
I do know what to say to that...amen!
"He uses the Yankee facilities too much."
But, but, he wears his sunglasses at night. So he can, so he can, read between the bloglines.
Tanya,
"We brought the baby to some hillbilly fireworks and he slept through the whole thing."
Well see, that's half your problem right there. You see, he wouldn't have slept through real fireworks. As two guys named "Zeke," a Bic lighter, a pot of beans, and some methane, do not qualify as fireworks.
Mmmm....beans beans, the musical fruit...
hahah!
;)
Tanya,
I hope when I pop over to your blog tonight, that there are more pics of Alexander...
Thanks for the good wishes Write P. I was at home with about half of my family and had as decent a time as some of them would allow. I missed your big day. Happy 4th of!
That's quite a clan you have there, Dale. You have more nuns than the family of the Missus (her aunt + her best friend).
