Middle Name Meme

So Fran I Am tagged Katie and Katie tagged me.

As Katie said-

1. You have to post the rules before you give your answers.

2. You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name or your mother's maiden name).

3. At the end of your blog post, you need to tag one person (or blogger of another species) for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged.)

I am telling you right now, this is going to take all day with my middle name (Christopher) and I can't tag that many people.

C: Cats. I'm allergic and the felines love that about me. I've mentioned it before, but I've got a long way to go on this meme and why, it's just like I am catnip. They do figure-eights under my feet.

Mr. Whiskers- Look, it's like "ring around the rosy" just for us! Just run between his legs four times and he sneezes!

H: Hirsute. I'm probably not as hairy as your uncle that embarrasses you every Memorial Day picnic with the "hairshirt," but for someone is who is part Chinese? I'm kind of hairy. On my Mother's side of the family, I am second hairiest.

R: Read. I love to read and will take a good book over ninety-five percent of what is on television. It's a good thing that I am married and have a kid, or I'd prefer books to the company of people.

I: Irritated. I'm always irritated behind the wheel and if you are from out of state and drive badly, I will say "go the f*** back to Laramie and learn how to drive!"

S: Surly. Um, refer above to the letter "I."

T: Told. As in, "I told you this wouldn't work." Yes, I am lemon and salt on your paper cut, because if you didn't follow my suggestion and something went wrong? I will remind you that I had it right. Conversely if you get one on me? I lump it, but I will grumble incoherently.

O: Orange. As in "orange juice," I drink at least three glasses a day.

P: Paper. As in "newspaper." Before the Internet, I used to read three of them a day on weekdays. I wound that down to one and a half newspapers a day after the Chronicle went online and since the Iraq War, I rarely bother. I get most of my information online and my Jeopardy abilities have suffered much since then.

E: Earl. Not as in "My Name Is..." No, call me Mr. Earl.

R: Reveal. As in, "I doubt this meme has reveal one damn thing about me." I might've recycled a bunch of things from other memes and I guess we'll find out if you can actually go blind from plagiarizing yourself.

Now, who do I tag? In alphabetical order as you know their first names

Angel
Bubs
Bridget
Chris, who has just tagged me!
Princess

Let's pretend my middle name is just "Chris" and leave it at that, this meme is cutting into my sleep.

Why Is It Gradeschool All Over Again?...

...oh yeah, because I've been tagged.

1. All right, here are the rules.2. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.3. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.4. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.5. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Here are eight more things you don't know about me:

1) I dream about dead people. No, Haley Joe, "I don't see them." They visit me. I can liken the experience to a cameo in a film or sitcom. They appear, they talk to me directly or partake in an incidental conversation. Their appearances are brief and they don't haunt or give me ominous warnings.

2) I believe in ghosts, but I don't want to talk about it. Just as people get all wound up about religion and to what degree their faith is stronger than someone else's, I get the same way about ghosts.

3) Every time I'm almost out, Katie and Dale pull me back in. It's not that blogging is a chore so much as I have other things to do. Just as I send Katie an email about me going on hiatus, someone will tag her with a meme.

When Katie is too busy to tag me? That's when Dale takes over, though I'm not uncertain that she doesn't tip him off.

4) I don't do funerals. I am talking about casual acquaintances, whom I prefer to morn in private. This is a huge sticking point with my coworkers, as we have far too many people at my job, passing way before the prime of their lives. Of course, a lot of the people who take exception to me not attending, are the very same ones that don't want to be around me during working hours. Hmm, go figure.

5) Since we've been married, I've never spent more than seventy-two hours away from the Missus.

6) Since he's been born, I've never spent more than sixty hours away from Procrastinator Junior.

7) These types of memes are excruciating for me, as I have already revealed my quirks and oddities previously, on the blog.

8) This is not a happy meme, as my happy side went ahead on blogging hiatus and so much as sent me a postcard.

I have to tag eight, but the eight don't have to play along if they don't want.

So Legs, Beth, Chelene, Deadspot ('cause I owe him one), Amy, Angel, Chris, and last, but not least, Todd. I had Dale in here, but I didn't notice that Katie beat me to the tag. May LeeWee stalk you for the next five years, Schwartz ; P

P.S. The responses and I retagged Dale, because Katie tagged him for a different meme:

Legs, who answered two memes at once! Amy, who managed to amuse me very much, though she's lacking Bogey pics.

Somebody from the "fair and balanced coalition" gave Chris a concussion (my bet is on my Republican sister-in-law. Because of her political beliefs and the female side of the in-law's mastery of frying pans). Don't get it twisted when you read his meme, it is done with a Colbert-worthy flair.

Speaking of politicos,
Dead Spot will be our new dictator for life. Chelene shatters preconceptions of musical heroes.

Restaurant Meme

Katie tagged me yet again and here are the rules: "list your top 5 favorite places to eat and tag 5 other people who live in different cities, states or countries."

1) Well, Katie asked me about
Izzy's, so now she gets to find out. A former speakeasy and in my opinion, the best steakhouse in San Francisco. The website says that "one of Izzy’s great fans was William Soroyan, the celebrated California-Armenian writer of the 1930s and 1940s. His famous play, 'The Times of Their Lives,' was said to have been set at Izzy’s saloon."

Well, if you're going to set a play up with Yuppies and
Marina Chicks, this is the place. Ah, so what? I'll put up with Anne Coult-shmear, as long as I get a 21-day aged steak and he stays at his, excuse me, I meant, her own table. Or get the New York au poive, as long as you chose "Izzy's Own," the best restaurant scalloped potatoes and the creamed spinach.

They make a nice burger. Procrastinator Junior thinks so too, though he doesn't like the crab cakes as they are nearly all crab. When you're eleven, breading has a greater importance. They make a decent Caesar, though it isn't what it once was. Great oysters and desserts, what more do you need?

2) If you talk about steakhouses, taste tends to be subjective. One man's perfect steak, is another one's shoe leather. One guy swore to me up and down to me about how great a particular place was. I tried it and let me be perfectly honest, I have had better quality meat in a Japantown Denny's chicken-fried steak. But prime rib? Ask anyone who knows prime rib and they'll tell you
the House of Prime Rib.

As I mentioned before in my fifty foods to try before you expire, they make fantastic Yorkshire pudding.

Now comes the hard part and I've spent the better part of the day mulling over the next two slots.

3) Minh Tri is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Honestly, there may be better ones out there, but I'm all too content with this eatery. As was mentioned in this post, these are my favorites...

"A) Bi Cuon-Vietnamese spring rolls with shredded pork, mint leaves, lettuce and rice noodles. The outer skin is like a soft tortilla and is made out of rice paper. The outer skin is not deep-fried.B) Tasty Beef-The one and only reason why I go exclusively to this restaurant for a Vietnamese dinner. Eggplant, beef, garlic, onions, and (scrambled) eggs sauteed.C) Ginger Chicken-Succulent chicken and a few green beans sauteed with a jullianed ginger sauce.D) Broccoli Beef-Beef and broccoli sauteed in a fermented bean sauce, though it tastes more like oyster sauce to me."

4) Cue Molly Shannon and..."Burma Superstar!" As I've said before, Burmese cuisine is a wonderful blends of Indian, Thai, and Chinese cuisines. Good stuff, Maynard.

5) If I follow Katie's example of listing dessert last and mind you, I'm not a dessert person. Follow Fred Astaire singing "Cheek to Cheek," but insert Tart to Tart instead. Heaven, I'm in Heaven, chocolate ganache cake. Need I say more? Ah, I didn't think so.

Katie Tagged Me!

Katie said, what would you do if Jesus came to your house? I'm on the verge of blogging burnout, so I cannot adaquately address this the way I would like to.

Let me say this, I don't respect most organized religons...that is to say, not the religons themselves, but the people world-wide that do both borderline and heinous things in the name of God. That's not exclusive to so-called Christians who are anything but Christ-like. There's a whole lot wrong on our planet that people are perpetrating in the name of Allah, or Buddha, or any name that people worship God under.

So, if someone showed up at my door and claimed to be Jesus? Unless I was filled with the Holy Spirit, I would tend to be skeptical and I would tell this person, "no thanks."

If I were filled with the Holy Spirit? Welcome to my humble home, we've been waiting. I would ask Jesus to fill in so many blanks in history and life. I would ask for forgivness for not living by his example and I would ask him to show me the way. Finally, I would ask "where does mankind go from here?"

Katie asked me to tag five people, but I fear that I might offend somebody along the way. I'm only going to tag James, because I believe that he will recognize this just as a meme. Anyone else who reads this can feel free to tag themselves.
